CHARLES TOWN, W.Va., Feb 05, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- American
Public University System (APUS) and The Logistics Institute have
partnered to transfer credits on selected courses from each institution.
Those enrolled in The Logistics Institute's Professional Logistician
(P.Log.) certification program may transfer credit from selected courses
into American Public University's (APU) or American Military
University's (AMU) undergraduate or graduate online degrees in
Transportation and Logistics Management, Management or Business
Administration. For more information on this program, visit http://www.apus.edu/alliances/logistics-institute/index.htm.
APU or AMU students seeking to earn the P.Log. certification at The
Logistics Institute may transfer credit from selected courses to satisfy
requirements for the P.Log. program. P.Log.-certified professionals are
logistics careerists committed to lifelong learning in the service of
sustainable business developments. They are leaders who initiate and
manage change throughout their organizations, and are the key to success
for a company's core competency in globally competitive markets.
"APUS and The Logistics Institute join forces in logistics talent
development aimed at the global business community," says Dr. Victor
Deyglio, President of The Logistics Institute. "APUS education
credentials indicate what qualified logistics practitioners know. P.Log.
certification confirms what certified logistics professionals can do.
With both, the well-rounded logistics careerist brings knowledge and
skills to corporate success in globally competitive markets."
"This agreement creates a bridge between real world experience and
academic knowledge," says Dr. Oliver Hedgepeth, Program Director,
Transportation and Logistics Management at APUS. "Our faculty
understands the professional logistician needs, and our partnership with
The Logistics Institute will allow us to further blend the best
practices from industry and military logistics systems with the latest
operational management theories. At the same time, the agreement will
allow The Logistics Institute to continue to strengthen its logistics
knowledge foundation."
Eligible courses at APUS for transfer into the P.Log. program focus on
Global Logistics, Leadership and Ethics. These are among the
foundational courses desired by global companies to manage organizations
whose stakeholders encompass multiple nationalities and operate in
dissimilar economies.
Eligible courses at The Logistics Institute for transfer include Supply
Chain Strategies and Leadership Strategies.
