The Communities We Serve

We are committed to diversity among students, faculty and staff and committed to a safe and healthy work environment for all. We also recognize and are committed to ethical conduct, ensuring a respectful, supportive and responsive atmosphere welcoming to all.

We in turn will expect the same standards in ethical conduct and regard for the environment reciprocally, that is from our vendors and other key stakeholders who conduct business with our organization.

APEI is engaged in the communities we serve through charitable organizations like the NFL’s Morgan Moses Foundation in Washington, DC and Richmond which provides APUS delivered college prep study guides and online tutoring to underprivileged high school juniors and seniors. Our employees serve on charitable boards and donate thousands of hours of time to their individual charitable causes.

Here are some of our longtime commitments

Wreaths Across America

Susan G. Komen Foundation

Awarding annual scholarships to high school seniors in Charles Town, WV

Supporting Community Health Fairs and many more

Making a difference in the lives of our students, our communities, indeed in the world in which we all have a measure of influence is foundational at APEI. From the vision of our founder, Marine Jim Etter who wanted to empower individuals to succeed, affordability and service has been our guiding differentiator.

As an institution ofhigher learning it is also our responsibility to make a difference by modeling the utmost of respect for our students, and our colleagues and our neighbors in an ever changing world.
